As a physician, you may not have worked with a collaborative independent worker’s compensation pharmacy before. Since we offer one-of-a-kind service, it makes sense that you would have questions as to how utilizing our services might affect or benefit your practice. Why would my patients want to go to your pharmacy instead of their regular pharmacy?

In most cases, your patient has the right to choose his or her pharmacy. When a patient is familiar with a particular pharmacy, they tend to return for all future pharmacy needs. However, workers compensation claims are different than traditional health insurance claims. WIRX Pharmacy is dedicated to removing the hassles and burdens that surround worker’s compensation cases, filling and delivering prescriptions even when the claims are pending or denied. Though state regulations vary, you may be able to help direct patients to the pharmacy that you feel will best fit their needs. At the very least, informing patients about alternatives can empower them to obtain relief in an already frustrating recovery process.

How long does it take for patients to receive their prescriptions?

We try to simplify the prescription-fulfillment process and expedite delivery of medications. Many prescriptions are not immediately filled at local pharmacies – especially drugs that are out of stock or narcotic prescriptions that require authorization. Since WIRX Pharmacy deals solely with worker’s compensation claims, we have immediate access to the medications and can have it sent directly to your patient’s front door within 24-48 hours.

It seems that Schedule II prescriptions take more time to process at your pharmacy. Why is that?

We are happy to dispense Schedule II narcotics according to the rules and guidelines of the federal government. We follow the same protocols as other pharmacies, but we also cross-check each patients’ prescriptions for abnormally high dosage, as well as signs of fraud or abuse. The safety of our clients is and always will be our number one priority.

Is it difficult to get started with WIRX Pharmacy?

Enrollment with WIRX is simple and easy. Once your patients have enrolled, we will automatically process and send their medications every single month as prescribed. There is no additional pre-authorization to complete once the initial enrollment is complete. The idea is to simply the recovery process as much as possible so that your patient can focus on what matters most – a swift recovery.
